Get outside for winter fun with Dunes Learning Center!

on
January 7, 2019

Join Dunes Learning Center for a Winter Open House on Saturday, January 12 from 11am-3pm. Cold weather is no reason to stay inside – get outside for a free day of family adventure!

The annual Winter Open House offers families a day of indoor and outdoor fun led by Dunes Learning Center’s team of knowledgeable naturalists. Activities include guided hikes, nature crafts, snow fun, face painting, and live music, as well as opportunities to learn about winter ecology. Hot cocoa and cookies will be served. There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is requested online. For more information and to register, visit DunesLearningCenter.org/events.

“This is a great way to explore our Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore campus in winter and experience firsthand the acclaimed naturalist-led programs that are usually only available to visiting classrooms,” said Geof Benson, executive director of Dunes Learning Center. “We can all benefit from getting outdoors, in any season!”

This event is in partnership with Lakeshore Public Media – PBS Kids Club, and is supported by: ArcelorMittal, BP, Cargill, Enbridge, Franklin Pest Solutions, Friends of Indiana Dunes, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Lakeshore Public Media, Mark J. Mihalo Family Dentistry, NIPSCO, Pratt Industries, Shell Lubricants, and Wickcraft Boardwalks.
