Three Music Fests coming to Michigan City this summer.
This summer people will be dancing in the streets as Michigan City prepares for three music fests. Too much? We don’t think so. Each fest has it’s own unique spin, they are all affordable, and they are bringing some pretty great bands to the area. All of this is music to our ears!
First up is Jammin with Save the Dunes on Saturday June 6 from 4-10. Jammin is now in it’s 10th year and it just keeps getting better. The wonderful thing about this one is that 100% of the proceeds go to Save the Dunes! Jammin takes place at Guy Foreman Amphitheater. It will have 5 bands (Mr. Blotto returns to headline), 2 stages, a beer garden with over 15 local craft beers and wines, it’s popular kid zone and a vendor market. Want to learn more? Head to their facebook event for updates or grab your early bird tickets now for just $25. (VIP, new this year, are $60). More info here.
Next up is Swale Music Fest on June 13th at Charles R. Wescott Park on Michigan Blvd. Swale takes place from 1pm – 10pm and will have over 25 performances! Each band takes the stage for about 30 minutes. Swale is in it’s third year and is put on by Michigan City Mainstreet Association. The fest is family friendly (but the kids may hear some swear words!). There will be local craft brews and food vendors. More information and tickets can be found here. The full line up of bands is now listed in their facebook event, right here.
The last fest is new this year and sounds amazing. Beyond the Beach will be at Guy Foreman Amphitheater on July 11. Beyond the Beach will have music from 11am – 11pm! Eight bands will perform with Trippin’ Billies as the headliner. Trippin Billies is a Dave Matthews cover band that tours nationally to sold out shows. At Beyond the Beach music fest you will find plenty to eat and drink, a fun area for the kids, an awesome VIP package (tickets are going fast!), in and out access, and a vendor area put on by The Collective just outside the fest with over 50 vendors. Tickets and more information can be found here. You can also follow along with updates on their facebook page, in their facebook event or on instagram @beyondthebeachmusicfest.
Michigan City is making music! So grab your tickets & your lawn chairs and let’s get ready for some fun this summer.
AND…coming this fall….IKE FEST. Mark your calendars for September 11-12 for this TWO DAY camping music fest held at the Michigan City Izaak Walton Chapter on County Road 850. Stealin’ the Farm, Chester Brown, Howlin Hoosiers and many more bands! More info can be found here.
