Shelf Ice Viewing Party to take place at Trail Stop this Saturday.
Are you wondering what a shelf ice viewing party is? Well, here’s the deal! Dig the Dunes is excited to show off a frozen Lake Michigan, and we have just the place to do it! Shelf Ice is magical and we want you to experience it. (from the shore, of course!)
You can go see the shelf ice anytime you want, but we will be opening our concession from 1-6pm on Saturday, February 20. We are going to serve beer and wine, chili, soup and red beans & rice (from fish camp), mac & cheese (from momma sue’s), pizza, hot dogs, hot chocolate with fun fixins and more! Free ice pops for the kids. (While they last!). We’ve got Tim & Mike from Chicken Dolphin playing some acoustic tunes from 3-6pm that will warm you up and remind you of summer.
View the ice from the shore, along the path, from either patio or inside our viewing room. Build a snowman or a snow fort! Warm up by the fire. Most of all, have fun! If you get chilly, have some chili! Or purchase one of our warm hoodies. We will have all our merchandise out for you to see.
Just a few rules. Beer and wine must stay inside or on both patios. Masks must be worn inside and please practice social distancing. Do NOT walk out onto the shelf ice.
Bring the whole family and let the kids (or dogs) have fun in the snow!
Bring skis, snowshoe over…and be sure to stay for the sunset!
Dig the Dunes Trail Stop is located at 1000 Riverwalk Drive, Portage IN. Concession will be open from 1-6pm on Saturday February 20. Can’t make this one, we will be back open on Sunday March 14th for a Spring Ahead Celebration!
