Reflecting on our Calendar Covers.

on
October 19, 2020
There’s under two weeks left to submit photos to the 2021 Dig the Dunes Calendar Contest, so we decided to reflect on the history of our calendars.
Ever wonder how we picked our cover photographer? Our panel of judges felt this spot was a special one. It’s the first impression and a hint at the beauty that is inside. We’ve always wanted to nominate someone who has contributed and grown with Dig the Dunes. Their passion for Indiana and Southwest Michigan Dunes shines bright through their photography. They are all true hidden treasures of the dunes!
2017 РStephen Lehman
Stephen is one of the original Dig the Dunes contributors. He reached out and started writing, sharing his photography, and even taught our very popular sunset photography class.
2018 – Laura Niemiec
Laura was the January 2017 winner and ever since a Dig the Dunes blogger. You can see many of Laura’s reviews and photos on our trails & beaches page.
2019 – Karen Cercone
Karen was the June 2018 winner and then became a Dig the Dunes ambassador. Her photos are featured all over Instagram and she makes sure to tag #DigtheDunes in all her dunes photos.
2020 –¬† Dig the Dunes founder, Eve Wierzbicki
This was a sunrise photo that received thousands upon thousands of likes on Facebook and Instagram. One of our most viral photos to date!
We look forward to our calendar contest every year and can’t wait to dig into this year’s submissions. Stay tuned for some more blasts from the past as we look back at past winners month by month.

Submit your photos here!

As in the past, we will donate 10% from each calendar to Save the Dunes.

More information and updates can be found in our facebook event.
