It’s November, which means while outdoor activities are starting to wind down, holiday bazaars are in full swing. Check out these events to help jump start your holiday shopping, enjoy a glass of wine or beer, and others we thought you would enjoy!

1:     November 2 – ODWC Arts & Crafts Fair – Portage, IN

Come see the wonders of local vendors and artisans selling diverse handmade goods that reflect our native environment and community. You’ll find creative gifts, homewares, health and beauty items, jewelry, artwork, vintage goods, handcrafted treasures and a variety of tasty noms including baked delights, soups, and chili (to eat in or take out!).

 

2:     November 2 – The Field Station Frenzy 5K Run & Walk – Porter, IN

The Field Station is hosting a children’s fun run, 1K and 5K through the trails of the Indiana Dunes National Park. Our race will begin and end at Chellberg Farm. Costumes encouraged!

3:     November 9 – Snowfest Arts and Craft Show – Valparaiso, IN

Join the Boone Grove Athletic Boosters at the Boone Grove High School for our annual show featuring all handmade arts and crafts!

 

4:     November 15 – Wine Tasting Event – Michigan City, IN

Join the Boys & Girls Club for our 5th annual Wine Tasting Event at Shady Creek Winery! Enjoy great wine and delicious appetizers and show your support for the Boys & Girls Club of Michigan City!

5:     November 16 – First Skate Fundraiser – Valparaiso, IN

Join the Valpo Parks Foundation and the Valpo Parks Department for this exclusive, family friendly, First Skate Fundraiser at Central Park Plaza!

Only a limited number of tickets will be sold. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here!

 

6:     November 16 – La Pour Brew & Wine Fest – Laporte, IN

The 5th annual La Pour Brew & Wine Fest is on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the LaPorte Civic Auditorium, offering brews varying from your local favorites throughout Northwest Indiana to other Midwest and National offerings.

Live music and great food will once again highlight day. The event runs from 2-6 p.m. (2 p.m. VIP entry/3:30 p.m. General Admission). Tickets can be purchased online here 

 

7:     November 23-24 – Journeyman Autumn Artisan Market – Three Oaks, MI

For two days, artists and makers of all kinds will fill Journeyman’s iconic event spaces for our annual Autumn Artisan Market! Wander the historic Featherbone Corset Factory with your favorite craft cocktail in hand and meet some of the area’s most talented and dedicated creative professionals. From locally sourced gourmet and personal care items, to handcrafted decor and jewelry—you’ll find gifts for everyone on your list while supporting our local artisans. Admission is FREE.

 

8:      November 27 – Danksgiving – Michigan City, IN

Join Burn ‘Em Brewing on Blackout Wednesday, aka the day before Thanksgiving, aka DANKSGIVING on Wednesday, Nov. 27th! This event is always a great time and features live music from Three Cities, & Stealin the Farm, and a specialty beer & food menu. Food by Bare Bones Gastropub. 21+ only, $5.00 at-the-door.

 

9:       November 30 – Hometown Holiday Celebration – Chesterton, IN

Come and celebrate the holiday’s, Duneland style! Hometown Holiday Outdoor Market, Carriage Rides, Retail Open House, Tree Lighting Ceremony, Twilight Christmas Parade, and visits with Santa taking place in Thomas Centennial Park & Downtown Chesterton. Everyone is invited. Some of your favorite European market vendors will be set up in the usual spots. Come to buy a unique holiday gift or get some yummy food. The market will run from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm.

 

10:      November 30 – Turkey Trot Hike – Beverly Shores, IN

Join a ranger in search of wild turkey and other wildlife as you work off Thanksgiving dinner at the Calumet Dunes parking lot in Indiana Dunes National Park. Hike along the ancient Calumet shoreline of Lake Michigan and through forested dunes and small blowouts. Meet at the Calumet Dunes Trail parking lot located on 300E (Kemil Road), just off of U.S. Highway 12 near Beverly Shores. This is the former site of the visitor center and the current home of the USGS regional office.
