Hello everyone!

Welcome to the new Dig the Dunes blog! It is my goal for 2015 to continue to post on Facebook, but to also go a little bit deeper in detail about some of the trails, places and events that are in the dunes! My New Years resolution for this year is to try to maintain a weekly blog for all of you. (again, I said “try”. Blogs are hard! 🙂  — if I can’t do it weekly, I will at least try to do it on a somewhat regular basis.

I thought this first post would be a great opportunity to tell you a little bit more about Dig the Dunes and who exactly I am — as there seems to be a little confusion sometimes!

Who is Dig the Dunes? Dig the Dunes began as a video blog/website with myself (Eve Landsman-Wierzbicki) and Simon Barrios. We created many videos and featured many places (please take a look at the website to see some of the fun videos we made!), but unfortunately we both became  very busy with our “real” jobs and could not continue to keep up with the schedule of finding time to interview, film, edit and produce all the videos. We did however continue to gather a loyal following on our Facebook page and I (Eve) started posting lots of beach photos which were very welcomed. Over time I fell in love with the dunes more than ever. The Facebook page allowed me to get out and see new places and trails that I did not know existed. It forced me to go out in the heat, the rain and the snow. I saw beauty everywhere in the dunes and I just wanted to share it. Dig the Dunes evolved into a page that allowed me to do just that. So it is me (Eve) that continues to post the photos daily as well as share fun, local events & places.

It makes me so happy to see the number of likes and comments I get for each post every day. It is all of you and your kind words that have made me want to build Dig the Dunes into more. My hopes for this blog are to try to feature a new trail, beach or activity with each post, and, I would also like to share information about a local business or two. I want to continue to get the word out about the many wonderful places and events that this area has to offer.

I invite you — as local business owners — to tell me a little bit about yourselves, either here or on the Facebook page. If I am not familiar, I will try to learn more, and then hopefully, I can share some of the less known places that are out there with others.

I will try to keep the blogs quick and concise, but hopefully filled with valuable information that you can share with others.

Thank you all so much and I look forward to seeing what this blog and the new year will bring!

Don’t forget to always “dig” the dunes!

~ Eve

Eve!! I am so glad you are doing this, many times you have posted pics from different trails and I would have loved to have more information on them so I could check them out too, but didn’t want to ask on every pic! This will be great! Thank you!!

Bravo to Eve and Dig the Dunes for shining a light on the highlights of our community.

Her keen eyes and ears are wonderfully focused on the pulse of all that is happening in the Dunes; a worthy endeavor, indeed, and opening our world a little wider for both visitors and lovable locals alike.

    yours in the Looney Dunes,

Eve, blogging about the dunes area is a great idea. Keep posting the photos–they are superb! You really have a special talent for photography and art. I feel like I’m visiting an art gallery when I view them. Great work!!

Very curious, how are you taking pic’s. so close to the beach front in this weather? Do you have a webcam posted somewhere?
Thank you for all the pic’s, really enjoying them. Love the DUNES!

      Hi Maribeth,
thank you! I live close to the beach so I try to head down there every day to get a picture. No webcam, just me! Glad you enjoy them.

Glad you like them! If they are the beach photos, they are most likely Ogden Dunes. For the trails, I’ll usually let you know where I am!
