Meet Ian Sanders! Ian was born June 30, 2006 and was brought home to a brand-new house in Beverly Shores that his parents built. He has grown up hiking, biking, swimming, paddle boarding and sledding in the dunes.

He is currently a fourth grader at Discovery Charter School, also located in the dunes. If he isn’t doing the above, he loves cooking and antagonizing his little brother Lucien, Age 4. You can catch Ian this fall on Fox network Masterchef Junior on Friday nights at 7 PM.

How long have you lived in the dunes?
I have lived here for 9 years my life

What is your favorite thing to do in the area?
My favorite thing to do is going to the beach and paddleboarding

Tell us a secret about the dunes
don’t go there at midnight because I hear coyotes howling

Give us your top three “hidden treasures” (restaurant, shop, trail, beach, event…really anything!)

a)ice cream at the gas station

b)bike riding on the trails

c)going to the lookout point at the swamp

What would you like to teach people about the dunes?
It is almost as beautiful as the carribian and it can be dangerous as the ocean

Anything else?
Have to go to the beach! And Bartletts Gourmet Grill for oysters.
