Jammin brings big names with a local twist. All to help “Save the Dunes”.
June 3rd is less than a month away and the folks at Save the Dunes are anticipating one of their biggest events to date.
Jammin with Save the Dunes, a music festival that touts local food, local breweries, wineries and family fun has decided to step it up a notch this year.
“We love all the local talent,” said board member Eve Wierzbicki, “but we also wanted to bring something new and big to the area.”
Eve remembered that Marty Lloyd, lead singer for the Freddy Jones Band was from Long Beach and thought that they would fit the bill perfectly. Freddy Jones Band has had several hit songs over the years and has recently re-emerged with more music and some even bigger talent. Eve contacted them and the band agreed whole heartedly to come out from California to help support Save the Dunes and the cause.
In addition, Corey Dennison Band (local favorites) and School of Rock Oak Park (founders have a house in Beverly Shores) will be included in the music line-up.
Natalie Johnson, Save the Dunes Executive Director, is thrilled with how things are going. “Ticket sales are higher than ever before,” she said, “and our fundraising committee has planned some really cool things, including hands on tie-dying for the kids.”
This fundraiser takes place from 4-9pm on Saturday June 3rd and is fun for the entire family. Along with over 10 breweries and wineries you can find an excellent selection of food trucks and an area specifically designated for family fun with the kids.
“Jammin is turning into one of the biggest events of the summer in our region,” said board president Scott Kosik, “but we also want to remind people that it brings something really special to Save the Dunes. It is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and all profits from ticket and beer sales go directly to the organization.”
Tickets are $20 in advance and are available online through eventbrite and at Shoreline Brewery. They will be $25 at the gate. Kids under 12 are free. Stay up to date with information regarding the fest on Save the Dunes Facebook event page.
