“Friends of the Shores” to hold Pop-Up on May 1 with all proceeds going to local charities.
“Friends of the Shores” is a group of women who have come together to help local charities. Last August they had a sale which raised over $13,000. This Saturday, May 1, they are having their first pop-up in Chesterton. We had the opportunity to ask them a few questions. You can read a little bit about them (and this Saturday’s pop up) right here!
What is the name of your organization?
We are The Friends of Beverly Shores (or Friends of the Shores) a non-profit and 100% volunteer organization.
What is your organization’s goal?
Our goal is helping neighbors and local organizations in need of support. Our saying is “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to far, go with FRIENDS”
When & Where is your next pop up event?
Our next POP-UP BENEVOLENT BAZAAR will be on Saturday May 1st from 9-3 at 10 Brown Avenue, Suite 3, in Chesterton IN 46304. We are thankful for the support and generous donations from the local shore committees. So many donations were coming in, we rented a 5000 sq. foot warehouse in Chesterton and it’s full!! We will continue to do POP-UP sales once a month at the warehouse.
What can people expect to find at your Pop-Up Sale
The warehouse is packed with a little bit of everything! We have amazing antiques, furniture, lamps, artwork, decor, designer handbags, jewelry, collectibles, outdoor furniture and accessories, exercise equipment, kitchen items…etc. There is something for everyone!
Where will the money go from the sale?
Friends of the Shores is a 100% volunteer organization with proceeds from our POP-UP sales donated to help local charities, Pines School in MC and community services like the police and fire department, Dunes Women’s Club and more. If a local organization is need, please contact us. We would love the opportunity to meet and help those in need.
How can people donate or volunteer?
We are always accepting donations at our warehouse. For information you can contact Linda Wagner firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment. For those that can’t get out, we will do small local pick-ups. We are currently not accepting clothes or appliances.
You can follow Friends of the Shores on facebook, right here. They have photos of lots of the items being sold this weekend.
