Dig the Dunes attempts to win world record for largest man made dune.

Dig the Dunes is going to try to build the largest man made dune and they need your help!

The dune is slated to be erected on April 10th on an empty lot off of Hwy. 12 between Ogden Dunes and Dune Acres. Dig the Dunes is asking that everyone bring one bucket of sand or dirt and drop it at the location (to be announced) on or before April 7.

“These are crazy times right now”, said founder Eve Wierzbicki, “we wanted to do something that would get everyone’s minds off their troubles.”

Wierzbicki stresses that the sand should not come from the already diminished beaches. Due to social distancing, there will only be 1-2 people on the site at a time, adding to the challenge. They are hoping to build the dune to 127 feet and 4 inches.

If you would like more information on how you can help, please chuckle to yourself, because you have just been April fooled. Did we get you? We hope we made you smile!
