Valpo Dishcrawl’s Whiting Walkabout

Dig the Dunes takes a roadtrip to downtown Whiting, Indiana, where we meet up with Jennifer from Valpo Dishcrawl. On our journey down 119th street we get to meet some great people and eat some delicious food! Stops included Skeeters Diner, Bulldog Brewery, Grillers and Pie Eyed. Learn about a new restaurant in the area, The Grateful Diner, as well as an organization called "Help for Southwest Michigan". Looking for other events in the area? Dig the Dunes visits the Mainstreet Theatre in Michigan City! Dig the Dunes was lucky enough to talk to some folks at the Festival Players Guild in Michigan City, Indiana and they told us about their Canterbury Summer Theatre program. This year marks the 45th season of the Festival Players Guild and the Canterbury Summer Theatre. They have had more than 800 actors, actresses and staff members who have helped build their reputation throughout the years. If you are interested in seeing a play or joining the guild, please call the theatre at 219-874-4269. The theatre is located in the Uptown Arts District of Michigan City at 807 Franklin Street. We are proud to announce that the Mainstreet Theatre is offering 2 for 1 tickets to all friends of Dig the Dunes. Simply let them know when ordering your tickets! Sage Restaurant Cooking Classes!

Sage Restaurant, located in Chesterton IN, is now offering cooking classes! Dig the Dunes was lucky enough to attend their class on grilling. We got lots of great tips, ate some wonderful food and learned about many wines. Sage is open for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. They have wine classes on the first Monday of every month and offer several specials throughout the week. With fresh food and daily features, Sage is a must whether you live in the dunes or are just stopping by for a visit.
