5 Best Spots for Waterside Drinks in the Dunes

Temperatures are slowly starting to rise and soon we will want to hang outside as much as we can. What better place to have a cocktail than right along the water’s edge? Here are our top five waterside spots for a drink in the dunes.

Bentwood Tavern, a top-rated New Buffalo restaurant, offers waterfront dining and drinks on it’s patio and rooftop bar. Enjoy your cocktail while watching the boats come in and out of the New Buffalo Harbor. Great place to feel like you are on vacation! (Maybe you are!)

Fire and Water is a one of a kind rooftop bar. Located right at the beach in Michigan City, it certainly has one of the best views in town. Watch the sun set over the lake, or view the beach-goers playing volleyball in the sand. Whatever you decide, this is the perfect spot to sit and sip.

100 Washington is the area’s newest waterside sipping spot. Here you can overlook the harbor and watch the boats go in and out. See Michigan City’s famous lighthouse as you enjoy patio seating that includes couches and a fire pit.

What to Drink: Large selection of beer, wine, fun cocktails
Bridges is located on trail creek alongside the historic Amtrak swing bridge. The deck is always lively and they have one of the largest selections of beer in the area. Sit on the picnic table, watch the ducks and enjoy a cold one!

Looking for a beer or wine with a view of Lake Michigan? Head to Wells Street Beach. This spot is full of beach-goers, but there’s usually a spot to sit and relax. You can enjoy live music on Wednesday evenings when they have food and drink specials, entertainment and fun stuff for the kids.
