It’s Valentine’s weekend in the dunes, do you know what are you going to do?

With Valentine’s Day falling on a Sunday this year, you have all weekend to celebrate! Whether you are single or in a relationship, here are some fun things to get you out and keep you busy!

Yoga. Grab some friends and head over to the Long Beach Community Center for some YOGA. The Sunday 10 a.m. yoga class with Lauralee Sikorski is all about Valentine’s Day. Enjoy doing an all levels gentle flow style class to some of your favorite Love Songs and leave with a the sweet taste of strawberries and chocolate. Drop in is $14

Brunch. It’s not that often that Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday. But when it does it means you can celebrate with brunch! Bartlett’s Gourmet Grill will have a special menu along with their Buckin’ good Bloody Mary’s and Dark Star of the Dunes will be holding a Bluegrass Brunch with Peter Nye and friends. Both are close to the beach and state park, so why not take a drive to see the shelf ice along Kemil Beach before or after you eat?

Vintage V-Day. On Saturday, February 13, Barker Mansion in Michigan City will be holding a vintage Valentine’s Day. Dress up in your vintage attire and tour the mansion! Beer, champagne, a photo booth, jazz pianist, vintage thrift sale and more will be on site. Cost is $15 per person.

Activate your Love Chemicals. Randi Light of Enlightened Living Hypnosis can help you ignite your passion and reconnect with the one you love. She is offering a Valentine’s Special for $150 per couple. To receive the special, please call before February 14. 219.929.8726.

Get Pampered. Ladies, head over to Aqua Spa and get pampered! How bout a bright red for the weekend? Or, go soft and subtle. Whatever you choose, their expert staff will be ready to treat you right. Feel like just hanging with your friends this weekend? Call ahead and plan a little “ladies only” party.

Romantic Dinner. Head over to Sage in Valparaiso for a feature deal all weekend. Sage will be featuring a sweetheart deal which is dinner for 2, one shared appetizer, one entree for each of you, and one shared dessert for $50 per couple. Regular menu will also be available. Check out many of the other restaurants in our “cool digs” directory as they are having specials as well!

Hike. Grab a friend or head out alone and meet some new people for the Indiana Dunes State Park  “I love the Dunes” hike. Meet at the Nature Center at 10 am on Sunday and hit the trails for a hike through the dunes. The hike will be 45 minutes long.

Head to the Moon and Back! Grab the kids and head over to the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond to take a look at the NASA interactive Exhibit. This FREE exhibit runs through March 22 and features an international space station model and display.
